This was the cheesecake at I got for my birthday at Cheesecake factory... I was trying to hold this one up, and it fell over and made a mess. Oh well.

The book I got from my brother, I love the classic Nancy Drew books, and I am trying to collect them all. I also got the vintage cake stand from my sister!! I had been looking for one for ages, and she found this super cute one!!














I had a pretty fun birthday, and it lasted all weekend. Who doesn't love that!!?!!

Crafting

Fun at the zoo!!!

We were watching the sea lions... they kept burping... Carsten thought it was hilarious!!

Christina was bored while we were watching the sea lions, so this is what she entertained herself with.




The fish were our favorite part... they all came up really close when we fed them!!!

That was our fun day at the zoo... we actually stayed for a couple hours, Carsten kept finding things that he wanted to do!

Storms...

This morning a pretty nasty storm rolled through central Iowa. It woke me up at about 3:00 a.m. with some hail.... and I never got back to sleep. Here is how I have spent the "morning."

3:00: Sitting on the couch watching the storm

3:15- 3:30: Trying to go back to sleep and listening to the news on tv talking about the "horrible" storm outside...

3:30- 5:23: Watching The Office and playing online scrabble...

5:23- 5:49: Showering

5:49- 6:08: Dressing

It is now 6:18 and I am ready for work... watching The Office... I don't have to be at work until 7:00...

Today Dan Wardell was at the Ames Public Library for his Reading Road Trip. He is the host/mascot for IPTV kids, and talks to kids all about eating healthy, reading books, and playing outside, not just sitting inside all summer. The kids that I nanny for see him on tv all the time, and my friend's child, Josiah, loves Dan. Dan Wardell is the reason that Josiah decided to try fruits and vegetables that he had previously avoided like the plague. All in all, it was a fun show. Josiah even got called up to help with the story, which totally made his day!!

Camping...

I am going camping tonight for the first time since.... last Labor day weekend. So almost a year ago. I am going from Wednesday night to Sunday. Oh man, thats a lot of family. Oh well, I will have pictures when I get back!!

So totally pagan of me...

Last weekend the next installment of the Chronicles of Narnia came out. Although I am excited about it, I have yet to see it.

These two are what I am more excited about.

I that that is horrible... But I have watched both for forever... and the movies have not been completely true to the Chronicles of Narnia books, and these other two started out on tv, so there is nothing to ruin... hopefully.
